Location, Size and History

Nemo 33 is located at Brussels in Belgium. It has the title of being the largest indoor pool in the world and for all the good reasons. It has a depth of 34.5 meters or 113 feet and it is filled with nearly 2.8 million liters of non-chlorinated but highly filtered spring water. The water is maintained at a temperature of 30 degrees Celsius or 86 degrees Fahrenheit.

The pool’s design itself is more dominant on the vertical aspect rather than being long and elongated horizontally. This is perfect for diving purposes and the lower levels have caves and certain areas that can be accessed when people use certain scuba diving gear.

The concept of the Nemo 33 was started by a 20 year old engineer back in 1996. John Beernaerts who was also a diving enthusiast started the creation with the Nemo 33. It was in 2004 where the Nemo 33 was officially opened and it became a very successful business establishment with just more than swimming pool services.

Nemo 33 has other services being offered aside from the basic swimming and scuba diving sessions for the swimming pool. The basic service would include diving, swimming and filming under the pool. They also offer lessons attuned to the theme of swimming and underwater activities.

One of its other services is the underwater restaurant built under the establishment. The restaurant can be seen through the pool to one of the caves. The people inside the restaurant can also see the people swimming in the pool. These would also include function rooms for reasonable prices.

They also have souvenir shops and items sold for the underwater purposes. They sell certain underwater gear and equipment for such purposes. They also include certain underwater aquatic gym sessions. This also includes the Aqua Bike training sessions made popular in Brussels.
