Most Expensive Mobile Phone in 2013
If you have millions of dollars in your bank account, where do you want to spend it? Clothes and shoes? Shopping? Cars? Real Estate? Set up your own business? Pay off your debts? Put it in savings?
There are so many ways you can spend your money depending on your preferences. But have you considered spending a fortune on your mobile phone? If yes, then maybe you would want to get your hands on the world’s most expensive mobile phone to date, the iPhone 5 Black Diamond, designed by British designer Stuart Hughes.
Who is Stuart Hughes?
Known for crafting pricey, luxurious products, Stuart Hughes is a British designer who is known for his elegant and luxurious designs, from cellphones to laptops to fashion, and even yachts and houses. Born in 1971 in Liverpool, England, Stuart Hughes, together with his partner Jo Emma Larvin, established Goldstrike International, the backbone for creating his luxurious and exclusive projects. Its objective: every project they will undergo must be unique, exclusive, and detail oriented which will set their products apart from the rest.
At present, Stuart Hughes is one of the most sought after and notable designers when it comes to designing various products. It’s no wonder he remains a constant holder of the world’s most expensive category.
The iPhone 5 Black Diamond
Stuart Hughes has done it again. After the release of the iPhone 4s Elite Gold in 2012 which costs £6 million, he broke another record with his latest creation, the iPhone 5 Black Diamond which costs £10,000,000.00 or US $15,300,000.00, making it the most expensive phone by far.
Elegance and sophistication are not enough to describe this mobile phone. The home button is replaced by a deep cut 26 carat black diamond and has inlay of 600 white flawless diamonds with full gold dressing for the rear section while the logo was embedded in solid gold with 53 flawless diamonds surrounding it. The cellphone also has solid gold chassis with 135 grams of 24-carat gold and sapphire glass set in the screen.
This intricately designed project was made by hand that took 9 weeks to finish. And this project was especially commissioned to Hughes by an insanely wealthy Hong Kong businessman, whose identity is yet to be disclosed, and who also personally owns the 26 carat black diamond embedded on the phone.
Is It All Worth It?
Although not the best cellphone so far, the iPhone 5 is already a good enough cellular phone because of its advanced and latest features, LTE and good amount of memory. Nevertheless, crazy is an understatement to describe how much iPhone Black Diamond costs. While Hughes regarded himself as the ‘craziest’ by far, spending millions of dollars over this handset is just too much, considering the cost and the probability of dropping the phone or getting stolen.
So even if you have millions of dollars to spend, would you spend it on a mobile phone? Maybe yes, maybe no.
