Most Expensive Wedding Gown
Women always love to get married in various ways, since a wedding is the day in their life where they get to be the star and the center of attention. In the passage of time people found several unique or obscure ways to celebrate their matrimonial ceremony. These unique weddings maybe just like a wedding on the beach, underwater or even high end estates. There are also obscure wedding themes like celebrating it with the essence of Halloween, cosplaying and anything else you can imagine.
There are those that choose to celebrate it in a very expensive and extravagant way, whether they spend it all in the decorations, food or the actual gown itself. There have been numerous expensive wedding gowns through the years. Even Princess Diana’s 1981 wedding dress was labeled to be one of the most expensive back in the day. The most expensive wedding dress as of today is the Diamond Wedding Gown made by Renee Strauss and Martin Katz. The Diamond Wedding Gown has been labeled at a price of $12 million.
The creators of the Diamond Wedding Gown were Renee Stauss and Martin Katz. Renee Strauss owns one of the most popular Bridal Salons in Beverly Hills. Renee was born there and started to venture in the world of weddings through her family’s catering business. She didn’t work at catering but more or less on the designs of certain wedding events. She would be in charge of folding and designing table cloths and table napkins. She studied at several bridal fashion schools in Europe. She made her way back in America and bought a bridal salon in Beverly Hills around 1982. Since then she gained several notoriety for her work. She managed to have her name known in Hollywood as she would become one of the go-to-designers for celebrities. She currently has a local show called Brides of Beverly Hills and publishes articles in her website and magazines like the Hunffington Post.
Martin Katz was born in South Bend Indiana and began his career in college selling jewelry to his classmates. He had his first important job in the jewelry industry at Layken et Cie in Los Angeles. He now resides in Beverly Hills selling his high end creations and making door to door names with certain clients.
Inception and Design of the Gown
Strauss and Katz collaborated to work on an expensive gown back in 2006 for the Spectacular Bridal Show held in the Ritz-Carlton on Rodeo Drive. What came to that was the $12 million Diamond Wedding Gown. The gown has a strapless design extending down to the feet. The gown is covered with 150 carats worth of diamonds. The diamonds are scattered in a lace like design for the gown.
The veil on the other hand is covered with rhinestones instead of diamonds giving it the sparkling and shining effect. The gown is currently still on for sale and still for $12 million. It is believed that the gown would sell for a hefty amount even after the wedding. Then again no one has bought it yet so it remains to be a jewel indeed.
